Crestline, CA – Wednesday, June 26, 2019, deputies from the Twin Peaks Station were informed by California Highway Patrol Officers, (CHP) that a tan Toyota Tacoma was transporting drugs to the mountain area. After receiving the information from CHP, deputies located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop in the community of Crestline near Bowl Road and Shady Lane. During the traffic stop the passenger, Samantha Stockbridge, 21 year old resident of Twin Peaks, displayed signs and symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. During a consent search of Stockbridge’s belongings, Deputies located drug paraphernalia. The CHP was contacted and assisted in the investigation by providing a Drug Detection Dog to search for any additional drugs within the vehicle.
The Drug Detection Dog alerted on several portions of the vehicle and, during the search, deputies located a metal container in the vehicle. The contents of the container consisted of approximately 25 grams of Black Tar Heroin and 11.3 grams of methamphetamine. An additional bundle of methamphetamine was located separately from the container which was about one gram in weight.
During a search of Jimmy Daniel Bailey, a 52 year old resident of Twin Peaks, deputies located a large quantity of cash on his person. Bailey was arrested for transportation and sales of a controlled substance and narcotics.
Stockbridge was issued a citation and released at the scene.
Through the combined efforts of the Sheriff’s Department and the CHP, the investigation was a success.
