Big Bear Lake, CA – Twenty-five year old Alexander Miskam — whose body was found just after midnight Friday — sustained fatal injuries during a botched armed robbery. Two relatives have been arrested for his murder, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The homicide investigation revealed that the victim and Sara Miskam, 27, and Dusty Miskam, 31, reportedly attempted to rob an unidentified individual in the Holcomb Creek area late Thursday.
THE REPORT
Detectives report that during the course of the armed robbery, the intended victim confronted the suspects. Alexander Miskam sustained life threatening injuries and was transported by another suspect to the area of Starvation Flats and Big Bear Boulevard.
A media release from the Sheriff’s Department indicated that Miskam’s body was then found by other individuals and authorities were notified.
THE ARRESTS
The investigation led to the arrest of Sara Miskam and Dusty Miskam. They are charged with murder and armed robbery.
The two suspects were booked at the Big Bear Jail and held without bail.
Booking records show Dusty Miskam is now in custody at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. His first court appearance is scheduled to be a video arraignment at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, November 3.
UPDATE: Friday, October 30 – 8:52 a.m.
Big Bear Lake, CA – Deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station responded to a call of a man down on Starvation Flats Road, south of Big Bear Boulevard, just after midnight Friday.
A media release issued by the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station reported that upon arrival, deputies discovered a male subject lying in the roadway. The subject was transported by ambulance to Bear Valley Community Hospital and pronounced deceased.
THE INVESTIGATION
Investigators believe the 25-year-old male subject was the victim of a homicide.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Division responded to Big Bear and are working with Detectives of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station to investigate the murder.
While the incident did not occur at the convenience store, witnesses indicate that “evidence” was scattered near the store prompting yellow police tape to be utilized to keep the scene clearn for homicide detectives.
