Victorville, CA – The North Fire Command Center — located at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds in Victorville — was the scene Monday evening of a shooting incident involving a U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement officer and a black Subaru Outback that reportedly drug the officer a short distance.
At 8:02 p.m., dispatchers received a call that shots had been fired at 14800 7th Street (County Fairgrounds) where the command post for the North Fire (Cajon Pass) was located.
THE INCIDENT
A confrontation of some sort between the Forest Service officer and the driver of the Subaru occurred before the officer was allegedly dragged while holding on to the Subaru.
Several shots were fired by the officer disabling the Subaru and the driver — who was not identified — was taken into custody by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. The Sheriff’s Log shows assault on a police officer charges were reportedly pending against the driver.
No injuries were reported.
